Heri Junior School became a partner school of Porridge and Rice in 2016. At around 400 pupils, they are Porridge and Rice's largest partner school.

Heri Junior School

Heri Junior School run classes through to class 8 for approximately 400 children. Many of these children come from extremely poor homes, where the parents can't afford even the low school fees charged by the school. The school allows payment of fees per day, and accepts food donations in place of money where families are in extreme hardship. The children are very welcoming, and are always well turned out at the insistence of head teacher, Ruth. These high standards are reflected in the school's excellent KCPE results.

£10 educates a child for a month

£10 pays the school fees of a child living in extreme poverty for 4 weeks.
