For the children at Porridge and Rice partnered schools, English is their second language. All of the children must learn English in order to do well in life, though, as the official languages of Kenya are Swahili and English.
Porridge and Rice can arrange pen-pal partnerships between children in the UK (or other English-speaking countries!) and children attending our partner schools.
Exchanging letters will give both children a valuable insight into life in a very different culture to their own, and will give the Kenyan children an opportunity to practise their language skills in an informal setting.
If your school in the UK is interested in "twinning" with one of our partner schools, please get in touch.
